Nick Gauntlett Rally

October 31, 2020 @ 8:00 am - November 1, 2020 @ 5:00 pm

Nick Gauntlett, who is a Fellow of the BHS, BHSI, BE Master Coach and International event rider, has kindly agreed to hold another clinic for our branch members next month, on Saturday, 31st October or Sunday, 1st November 2020.  The clinics are very popular biannual events for LLPC!  We will keep places for our own members first but if all slots are not filled over the two days, we will open the opportunity up to neighbouring branch members.  So please apply promptly to avoid disappointment.

By way of introduction to new members, Nick started his riding career as a young teenager and has risen to the heights of competing at Badminton, Burghley and on the British team. Currently Nick has a string of homebred young horses he is starting on their careers, with his stallion, Party Trick, spearheading the team. Having been a member himself, he is a keen supporter of The Pony Club and now coaches all around the country for various branches and also teaches regularly abroad.

He will be happy to teach any members who feel they are able to ride any Pony Club dressage test and complete a round of jumps, right up to members who are competing regularly in Open PC, BS and BE competitions.  If you have any queries, please give me a call on 01798 865161 or 07941 466651 to discuss any details you are unsure about.

To take advantage of this great opportunity, please send me the details listed below by email: clare.emery@outlook.com.  The fee is £50 which needs to be paid online at the same time as sending in your application details.  Please use ref: NG2020/surname (x 2 etc if necessary).  Please email Emma and myself at the same time to alert us to the payment.  I will still need the details of rider/pony by email too.

The rides will be kept to four riders and horses of similar levels of ability, starting with a session of flatwork, a gap, then moving on to a session of jumping, either show jumping or simulating the questions encountered on a cross country course, depending on the level of ability.  This has proved to be a very enjoyable date in the LLPC calendar so if you haven’t applied before, please do feel confident that this will be a great preparation for the upcoming Eventing season and maybe the chance to see if a step up in level from where you finished last season?  Due to the length of daylight hours, we will need to start promptly in the morning to enable the groups to finish as a sensible time in the afternoon, although lights will be available.

Please apply swiftly to avoid disappointment, stating which day would suit you better.
