Lord Leconfield Team Show Jumping, 10th January 2016, Merrist Wood

Class 2 – 50cm

Show Jumping

Blue Team

With Gussie McMorran and Emily Edge getting lovely steady clear rounds with Emily’s first time at a team event.  Unfortunately Maya Lebus had an unlucky couple of tumbles so was eliminated, with Abigail Jupp having an unlucky 4 faults left the team in 6th place but as some of them being new to competitions did very well indeed.

Show Jumping

Silver Team

The Lord Lec silver team did brilliantly in the 75cm team jumping Imogen McMorran having just eight faults in her first team event on her new pony with Suzie Lunt, Sophie Jones and Lulu James all doing excellent fast clears to be placed first in the class!

Class 4 – 75cm

Blue Team

Kate Simmonds, Isobel Pakes-McGovern and Lucy Pocock represented LLPC Blue team on Sunday 10th Jan at Merrist Wood.  All had good rounds in the individuals and went into the arena under Beryl Millam’s watchful eye!

Lucy & Jack went first with a good clear round, followed by Isobel and Rosa who achieved their first clear round in any competition!  Kate and Piglet unfortunately received 4 faults from a bar falling down and as there were only 3 in the team, every score counted. The team were in good spirits and came 4th overall.

Green Team

Unfortunately, due to an injury at the event one of the team members, Bella, withdrew from the green team. Suzie Lunt kindly stepped in and rode Bella’s pony Sylvia which meant they were able to take part.  It was a great team effort.  All three girls (Suzie, Jemma and Elsa) had their challenges to face and they all rose to the occasion and completed determined rounds which they should be proud of.  Well done!

Silver Team

The Lord Lec silver team did brilliantly in the 75cm team jumping Imogen McMorran having just eight faults in her first team event on her new pony with Suzie Lunt, Sophie Jones and Lulu James all doing excellent fast clears to be placed first in the class!

Class 5 – 85cm

Suzie, Sophie and Lulu then took part in the 85cm team event repeating their fast clear and were joined by Flora James again who did brilliantly with four faults in her first outing on her new horse. After watching until the end of the class the girls were thrilled to again be announced as first place winners. Unfortunately Imogen had to leave before the photos but a huge congratulations to all the girls for team wins in both the 75cm and 85cm classes!

Show Jumping

Crawley and Horsham Hunt South (CHHS) Show Jumping, Sands Farm, 15th November 2015

With so many enthusiastic riders wishing to compete, LLPC entered two mini teams into this event, with the majority of the riders making their team debut. Despite the very early start our two teams arrived well turned out and in good time.

Representing LLPC Minis Blue Team were: Emily Scott, Charlotte Meeking, Amelia Parker and Verity Leggett.  The Minis Silver Team were: Isobel Pakes McGovern, Bella Barnes, Ryan Perrett and Lucy Pocock.

All riders competed individually in Class 1; 70cm, which proved to be a very complex and tricky course and certainly woke everyone up!

Amelia obtained 4 faults, Emily went clear but was unplaced.

Charlotte had a pole down and Verity went clear to be placed a very respectable 6th out of the 42 entered.  Lucy unfortunately lost her way and Isobel on her new mount had 3 refusals.

In Class 2; 70-75cm Minis Team Jumping, Amelia and Verity went clear. Emily, who despite having to sit several bucks, held her nerve and also went clear!

Charlotte unfortunately had 2 refusals.

The team went into the jump off on zero points. Verity rode Bobby in the jump off producing a fabulous display resulting in the team coming a well deserved second.

Congratulations Girls.

The Silver Team were sadly a man down due to Ryan being taken poorly. Lucy had four faults and Isobel was unlucky with a stop and a pole down.  Bella who had been riding a beautiful round had a very unfortunate fall.  Therefore, the silver team did not make the jump off.  A big well done for your efforts and wishing you better luck next time girls.

Ellie at Royal Windsor

ellie

Ellie Barnwell represented Lord Leconfield in the Pony Club show jumping at Royal Windsor today, 17th May.  They jumped a good round but unfortunately rolled a pole on the last jump!  It is quite an ordeal jumping with so many distractions all around, ranging from brass bands and gun carriages to mounted games cheering!

Ellie and her family had an enjoyable day, despite the pesky pole!
